When customers want to purchase Lamin-x they think about whether to install it themselves, or if they would rather have a professional install it for them. Obviously this is a personal decision. Each person has a different level of mechanical ability, so one’s confidence in that ability would normally determine their decision.
Lamin-x is designed so that it can be removed and reinstalled many many times during the initial installation process. If the Lamin-x film was not lined up correctly, or too many air pockets, or just an all around mess; then it can normally be removed and reapplied until it meets the customers expectation.
Each precut product within the Lamin-x store has a “squeegee rating” on it, so you can get an idea as to the difficulty of the install. Installing Lamin-x on fog lights is a simple level 1 process that pretty much anyone can accomplish. Some headlights or tail lights are very complex in their shapes that have a level 4 or 5 rating, so a professional may be the better route.
We have many installers located around the world that should be able to install your Lamin-x. You can do a search with our Vendor Locator. Just input your zip code or country and a list of options within a certain radius should come up. These vendors normally sell any Lamin-x film color option and should be able to install it for you.
If you are feeling good about installing it yourself, we include the installation instructions and tools to help you with the install. You can also watch an Installation Video for that squeegee rating too. If you have any suggestions for improving the installation process then let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
